Dear Backers,
We hope you're doing well and enjoying summer. We're very excited to share with you our new BOLT 2 retractable nib fountain pen. We've spent this year improving on the design of the original BOLT. It remains the same size and mechanism, but with the following improvements.
Micro-texture on the metal body to improve grip.
Softer and more durable silicone seal.
Stronger spring for a faster bolt-action mechanism.
Re-engineered internal components to minimize friction.
As with the original model, we're offering EF, F, and M nib sizes. BOLT 2 is offered in 100% space-grade (6061) black aluminum.
BOLT 2 is available on Kickstarter at up to 50% discount of the future retail price.
New BOLT Copper

Dear Friends,
We're very excited to share with you our new BOLT retractable nib fountain pen in full copper. This is a one-time edition of 200 pieces, which are ready to ship immediately. Copper is a very good material for this pen because copper parts experience less friction than titanium and steel parts, making the bolt mechanism very smooth. On the other hand, copper is heavier and it also patinas over time, giving each pen a unique character. For this edition, we are offering EF, F, and M nibs, as well as a matching optional clip in copper and polished stainless steel. Additional nib units are also available.
As usual, we'd like to offer our Kickstarer backers and subscribers a 20% discount during release day. Please use code BOLTCOPPER during checkout to receive the discount.
New BOLT pen in full brass!

Dear Backers,
We're very excited to introduce our new BOLT retractable nib fountain pen in full brass. After the success of the titanium edition, we wanted to create a new version with a warmer material. In addition, brass is perfect for bolt mechanisms as there is very little friction between brass components, making it very smooth to operate.
This is an edition of 300 pens, which are ready to ship. We are offering our previous backers a 20% discount by using code BOLTBRASS20 during checkout.

Dear Backers,
We hope you are doing well and that you had a great summer!
We would like to let you know that this project is now completed. We would like to thank you for making it possible! All pens were shipped by the end of July, but some international orders might still be in transit depending on customs clearance.
We would also like to let you know that we have about 100 pens ready to ship. If you would like to purchase additional pens for yourself or as Christmas present you can order them at the Kickstarter price for the next two days. Afterwards, we will offer them on our website at the retail price. These are the last BOLT pens of the year due to the machining complexity.
Thank you very much for your support and we hope you can join us in future projects!
Shipping Started

Dear Backers,
We are very excited to let you know that we have started shipping. Please note that this will be a long process and we expect to complete shipping during the last week of July. As soon as your package ships, you will receive an automated email with your tracking number.
We are also very happy to let you know that we upgraded to the best quality grade-5 titanium. This material is slightly lighter in color than the prototypes.
We have also prepared an instructions video, which you can watch on YouTube. Please watch the full video before using your pen. The first part of the video explains how to ink up your pen, the second part shows how to replace the silicone seal. The last part explains how to install the optional clip without scratching your pen.
Please note that the bolt mechanism will be a bit tight during the first few days- this is normal. The seal mechanism is designed to be operated with an inked pen. This provides lubrication to the seal and creates a capillary action that completely seals off the pen from air. We don't recommend operating the bolt mechanism without ink as this would put some wear on the silicone seal. Seals have been tested for months without any problems and all pens will come with 2 extra seals.
