Final Progress Update

Dear Backers,
We are contacting you to let you know a few things about the project. All pen parts have been completed and we are currently assembling them and doing a last round of quality control. We expect to start shipping on July 1st. As we have to fulfill a large number of orders, shipping will extend for at least 3 weeks and expect to be completed during the last week of July. Shipping is slow and time consuming because we do all the packaging and labeling in house. We do not outsource it to avoid any missing items and other order problems.
If you order any additional items, your credit card will be charged today (June 18). We are doing this to be able to lock the orders in. As soon as orders are locked, we will send another email via Backerkit to verify your shipping address. If your address has NOT changed, you can ignore the email. If you need to update your address, because of a recent move, you will be able to do so by clicking on the provided link. Please complete this process within the next two weeks, so we can start shipping on July 1st.
As soon as your package ships, you will receive an automated email with your tracking number. If you used a hidden email address, we will send you the tracking number via Kickstarter messaging as soon your package has shipped.
In the next update, we will send the links to two videos that we are preparing. The first video will be the instructions to operate the pen. The second video will explain how to properly install the optional clip without risks of scratching the pen.

Progress and Shipping

Dear Backers,
We hope you are doing well.
We are very excited to let you know that production of the BOLT pens is going very well. We will start shipping during the last week of June and will continue until mid-July. So far, 93% of the backers have completed the survey. If you have not done so, please have a look into it as soon as possible.
As soon as your package ships, you will receive an automated email from Backerkit with your tracking number. Domestic packages will take 3-5 business days to arrive, while international orders will take 7-15 business days. Packages can be delayed by customs and we can't control or expedite the clearance process.
We are very happy with the production pens and are looking forward to sending them to all of you.

Survey Update

Dear Backers,
We sent out the survey last Monday. So far, we have received about 70% of the responses. If you have not answered the survey, please complete it as soon as possible. An email was sent via Backerkit with the access link. Many backers used a hidden email address (Apple's private relay), which is blocking the Backerkit email. If you used a hidden email address, and you have not answered the survey, please send us an email to [email protected] so we can reply with your survey link. ONLY backers that used a hidden address should do this, everyone else please answer through the link in the email.

Survey and progress

Dear Backers,
We hope you are doing well.
We are excited to let you know that we just sent out the survey. You will receive an email from Backerkit with a personal link to your survey. Within the survey you will be able to select your desired nib sizes and purchase additional pens and add-ons.
We have received multiple requests for additional silicone seals, so we are including two additional ones with each pen at no extra cost. We also have a pack of 10 silicone seals if you want to have many for the future. As a reminder, the seals are designed to last a very long time, but some wear and tear is normal after years of daily use.
We would appreciate if all backers can complete the survey this week. It is very important because we need to know the exact numbers for each item.
We are also excited to let you know that manufacturing is going according to the schedule. We will complete all parts during the first week of June. We are planning to assemble and do quality control in June and start shipping in early July.

Optional Clip, Nib Sizes, Survey

OPTIONAL CLIP
During the last month, we have been designing and prototyping the optional clip. We are really excited as the end result is cohesive with the overall design. The clip assembly consists of 4 parts (connector, clip, end-cap, and o-ring) and can easily be installed by swapping the normal end-cap with the clip assembly. As mentioned, the clip is optional. All pens will come with the standard end-cap. We cannot offer the clip assembly as a standard feature of the pen. Anyone that is interested in the clip assembly will be able to purchase it ($20) during the survey. In that case, you will receive a full pen and the clip assembly.
NIB SIZES
As mentioned during the campaign, you will be able to select your desired nib size during the survey. If you ordered several pens, you can select the nib size for each pen. In addition, we will offer the opportunity to purchase additional nib assemblies separately. The nib assembly consists of the titanium housing, feed, and nib. Nibs follow the Japanese line thicknesses system, which are thinner than Western nibs. We will offer Extra Fine (0.3 mm), Fine (0.4 mm), and Medium (0.5 mm). No other nib sizes are made on this particular nib. If you are used to Western fine nibs, we strongly recommend to order the Medium (0.5 mm) nib. The Extra Fine nib is really very fine and could be used for accounting or detailed sketching. The price of each additional nib assembly is $30.
SURVEY
During the next couple of weeks we will work on setting up the survey. As soon as it is completed, all backers will receive an email from Backerkit. Within the survey you will be able to select your nib for your pen(s) and purchase any additional pens, optional clips, and additional nibs.
PROGRESS
We are currently manufacturing the pens and packaging. We expect to start shipping the pens in June/July as outlined in the Kickstarter campaign.
